Erasmus - Heaven or hell?
Erasmus can be a lifechanging experience for students, but can also increase your level of stress even more. In 2021, around 75% of abroad students reported higher stress than at their home university. It takes lots of courage to jump into the unknown and live in a foreign country, leaving everything familiar behind.
The key to enjoying your time abroad is to be brave and curious. Get out of your comfort zone and try what appears new and strange to you, and you will eventually discover that these things make the greatest memories. Learning a new language can be difficult, but the first proper conversation will be the highest reward.
To conclude, there is just one thing to say: Don’t panic. The beginning might be hard, but once you get the routine, it’s going to be the greatest time of your life.

I find this article particularly interesting because it helps to reassure and support students or future students who are going to leave with the Erasmus + programme.
ReplyDeleteIt is important for students not to get stuck on the language. It is important to be daring and not to be afraid or shy, nobody will laugh at you, on the contrary your knowledge in your new country will help you to progress. It is important to dare to talk to people, whether they are your classmates or people you meet in your free time. It is your new knowledge that will not only help you to improve your language skills but also make you feel comfortable and at ease during your stay.
